Well guys it has been awhile since my last update. I’ve been pretty busy with finishing school and all to find time to write. So what I am going to do is give you an update on what has happened since my last post.

I applied to a few colleges and got accepted to them, so I had to go through the eliminating process. I feel that I have chosen the best college that fits my needs. This fall I will be attending Boyce College in Louisville, KY, there I will be pursuing my major in Biblical Counseling and a minor in Biblical Studies (which consists of extra semesters of Greek and Hebrew). I am very excited about starting, my first class on August 7.

So that is what has happened for my college life. Lets move on to what happened last week, so far the best week of my life.

Last week I had a little vacation in Canal Fulton, Ohio, I went to the Alive Music Festival. It was a week of awesomeness and sadness. Ohio is the only state where you can get sunburn and struck by lightning in the same day. Everyday it rained and there was a lot of lightning, however the sun did come out for random hours of every day to give us some enjoyment. Some bands I saw were Skillet (they rocked my face off), David Crowder Band, Tenth Avenue North, Swithchfoot, Sevenglory, Sunny With a High, Haste The Day, and that’s just some. (Check out the photo album on my Media page) Thursday we took a day trip away form the fest and went to Cedar Point. That was the best day of the trip (in my opinion). Sunny all day we rode on every roller coaster, my top two are the Top Thrill Dragster and The Maverick. Cedar Point claims to be the Home of the Worlds best coasters, and so far they have lived up to that title.

Now were are at today June 26, 2009 as I get ready for my last week home before I go work at a camp this summer. After the camp I head home pack and leave for school. This week is a week that I have been ready for since the 9th grade. Going to college and doing work that actually pertains to what I will be doing in life. However, at the same time it is a week where I look back and think about all the memories from when I was a kid, and memories of recent years spent with my friends. Some friends I won’t see again; some I will; some will move; some will stay; I don’t know how long you will, but the memories will always last.

Now you are all caught up and I will try to post more regularly s that we don’t get behind.

Kids Breakaway Week 1

Today is the day, Kids Breakaway! I am finishing getting packed up, stuffing the last few shirts in my bag. Oh let me just clarify, I am not going as a camper. I am going as staff as the sound tech. Which means, I work for a few hours each morning and night. Then chilax for the rest of the weekend. (However, if they do need my help with anything else I always do the extra work). This will be a fun weekend, packed with great worship being lead by Jeremiah Gruber. Along with amazing speakers one of which being Dick Gruber. I can not wait to see God move through these kids. Well, Weekend number one here I come. Check back for updates.

Tonight for Valentines Day we decided to take our mom to a Hershey Bears game, because my mother LOVES hockey. I love hockey too, so I was pretty excited to go to another game this season. The last game I went to a Bears game, the team lost in overtime, so I really hoped that they would dominate this game.

The first period was great; within the first ten minutes, the Bears scored three goals. Keith Aucoin scored the first goal, Alexandre Giroux scored the second, and Patrick McNeill scored the third. The Norfolk Admirals had eight penalties and the Bears only had five, the first quarter was turning out well.

We came to the second quarter, and for the Bears it was totally opposite than the first period. Norfolk scored four goals, and the Bears hardly touched the puck. The Bears had two penalties, but Norfolk had four. The bears weren’t looking too hot. Not to mention some guy behind us a few rows kept yelling out random nonsense. I don’t think he ever reached puberty because he had a really high voice; yes he was an adult! The second period was not so good, but the Bears had one more chance to redeem themselves.

During the third period the Bears stepped up their game came out strong, moving the puck around, and keeping Norfolk spinning in circles. Then out of nowhere–GOAL!!!! Keith Aucoin scored his second goal of the game, moving the score to 4-4,– tied game. Norfolk did not let that goal go unanswered. Brandon Segal of the Admirals scored a goal moving the score to 5-4. The Bears fought back, but Norfolk started to play dirty, tripping players and blatantly fighting during the play. Somehow the referees refused to make a call even if it happened in plain sight. However, even amidst the fighting, the Bears shot and would have scored, but Norfolk “tripped” over the goalpost making the goal unofficial. The Bears fought back again and went for another goal, and the puck went in, but Norfolk “trips” over the goal again making it not good. The clock ran out and the Bears were not able to make another goal, ending the game at 5-4 Norfolk.

The game was good until the third period when calls should have been made. If the game was fair, then I would not have minded the loss. Yet because of all the unsportsmanlike moves and bad calls, that just made the game lame. We’ll get them next time, Bears!

A New Chapter

Today I sent in my first of 6 applications for college. Last spring I applied to Boyce College in Kentucky. I loved the campus, Professors, and how their main focus was on God and giving good training to get the word out for other people in a loving and caring way, but not backing down and catering to people as not to “offend them.” So today I sent them my application and signed up to go and visit that college again in April so I am very excited about that, I feel that this is where God is calling me to be.

On a side note I am also excited about this trip, because I will get to visit my friend Sarah Rudy who attends Asbury College in Kentucky as well (about 2 hours away from Boyce). I plan to stop by her neck of the woods to say hello.

I am very excited to see what the Lord will be doing with my life as I enter a new Chapter. I can’t wait to begin writing it.

So Close, Yet So Far Away

I just don’t know where the Cardinals were today, maybe they were on vacation in Florida instead of playing football. The Cardinals can definitely play better then they did today. The Steelers did a great job at shutting the Cardinals down. Larry Fitzgerald hardly got any action of the field. James just could not find any holes to get through. Not to mention the Cardinals had way to many penalties against them that gave the Steelers yardage and a few key first downs.

The Cardinals first half was not good at all, the Steelers were able to shut down there passing game and their running game. The Cardinals defense had a few chances to sack Big Ben but they just could not get a good grip on him. Ben was did a great job finding an open receiver while under pressure but those options would not of been available if he didn’t have a place to scramble to.

The second half kept me on my feet; the cardinals defense started to wake up and make some good plays and stop the Steelers from advancing, forcing them to punt. The remarkable pass from Kurt Warner to Larry Fitzgerald for a touchdown shed some light to the Arizona Cardinals. Unfortunately the interception form Kurt Warner returned for a touchdown killed killed any hope for a come back. With less them a minute left there was a slim chance for victory.

Unfortunately the Cardinals were not able to come away with a win, but the Steelers are the first franchise to get six Super Bowl rings. Even though the Cardinals lost they have nothing to be ashamed of the 2008-2009 Cardinals team make a path for a new future. The Cardinals were not able to make it even into the playoffs for 60 years. They broke that barrier and made a wild-card team. Got a huge victory against the Atlanta Falcons in the Wild card. After that they traveled to play the east coast (where they lost every game) against the Carlina Panthers and completely dominated. Traveled back to Arizona to play against the Philadelphia Eagles and came away with a victory to become NFC champions. They were the underdog throughout it all and made it to Superbowl 43 so in that all I believe they have nothing to be ashamed of. Great Job Arizona Cardinals!
